Birthday Weekend (for reals)

All right so the real birthday finally rolled around-yep just a month o' parties-I love birthday month. But finally the 25th came and so did the parties with it. We had another murder mystery party on Friday the 24th. We did the Chicago Caper (a boxed one), but unfortunatly only one picture turned out-really I need to just buy batteries-and it wasn't worth putting on the blog so sorry. But we had a blast once it got started-thanks James for being late with no reason and without a costume-honestly! But, after it got underway everyone did great and we had a blast! Thanks Cindy (Scoop) I had so much fun with you! It's nice when you have some one in character to play with, not that anyone wasn't, we (Cindy and I) just had a lot of fun together.
Next morning was my birthday day and we all went disc golfing. We had to take Rylz out for is first outing. So Tyler, Rylz and myself headed out to Bicentennial Park for some serious disc golf. There on the left we see Ry throwing and if you look closly (or click on the pic) you can even see his disc-good shot Rylz! Then of course a poor quality video just to show character ;)

Then we headed over to Rock Canyon (which will never be my favorite park, but we had to show Ry). OH MAN! The whole time we spent mostly looking for our discs! That's why Bicentennial is way better. So just to give you a flavor or what Rock Canyon is, here are a few pix.
So there is Ry looking for his disc,
and me laughing because I just sent Ty off to find mine. Then to top it off, the last hole is over a cliff. You see you are on the top of the hill and the basket is at the bottom so you're throwing straight down-unfortunately discs fly. Mine ended up in a tree, which was on the slope of the hill, which none of us could get to because the loose sand prevented us from climbing to the tree. So after much trial and only falling down the hill twice (once with Tyler) here I am in the tree looking for it.

Where's Cassidee?...There she is!

And lets not forget SUSHI at Yamato's! It was heavenly-need I say more?

News Release

(not part of the assignment, Crash Bandicoot is one of my favorite video games)

story link here

Back again this fall is Crash Bandicoot in the latest installment of the Crash series, Mind Over Mutant. Developed by Radical Entertainment, it will be released for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and PSP, for more info visit www.crashbandicoot.com

With a similar story line, Cortex is once again attempting to take over the world. He's teamed up with an old friend, N. Brio and created the N. V. device which controls both bandicoot and mutant. It's of course up to Crash again to save the day.

The new techniques added in this game are very different than in the past Crash games. Now in co-op mode your partner is played by Crash's sister Coco. The 'world' of Crash has changed as well. Now it is a free romping environment allowing different experiences depending on the circumstances.

They've also given Crash new abilities. A roll and counter combat system, allowing a counter attack adding more damage to an opponent. Crash can now dig underground like a real bandicoot. He's also able to climb vertical surfaces and jump side-to-side. And now he can keep a mutant in his pocket to save for another use.

"The Crash Bandicoot franchise has built a wide audience of loyal fans, appealing to both male and female games of all ages. The Crash series remains one of the most recognizable franchises in our industry and we're excited to make this year's family-friendly title appear at the top of every gamer's wish list this holiday," said Al Simone, senior vice president, Golbal Marketing for Sierra entertainment.

The Party!

So we had the party and it was a blast!
I was not the guilty party like last time, although a very strong case was built against me (and Kronk).

The cast included Scar (Ryan), Ursula (Angie), Hades (Shandon), Judge Doom (Dad), Jafar (Rylz), Prince John (Paul), Captain Hook (Jonathan), Cruella DeVil (Tabitha), Kronk (Tyler), Yzma (Me), Gaston (James), Evil Queen (Melissa) and The Queen of Hearts (Becky).

After all was said and done, it ended up being the Evil Queen as the culprit
and all side-kicks were returned safely-well as safe as evil can get.

Th
anks to all those who helped out and worked behind the scenes to make this happen. Mom and Dad of course for creating and hosting, Grandma and Grandpa for providing food and clean-up and Zac, Amanda (Zeus & Hera) and Spencer (Maleficent's Crow) for aiding the hosts, food, and everything else you did!

Next party on the agenda for the fam is Greek Gods I believe-that'll be down in St. George. Spence wants to try his hand and orchestrating a party so we're doing a boxed party this Friday and then he'll write one for Halloween! Good Luck!
So that's what I did over the weekend, October is sort of like Birthday Month instead of Birthday Day. I love to celebrate and have friends over and any excuse to dress up will be exhausted!

FALL BREAK!

So my birthday party is this weekend! I'm so excited, Mom makes up murder mystery parties according to the theme I want. This year I wanted to do Disney Villains. I'm being Yzma and Tyler is being Kronk, both from Emperor's New Groove. Mom makes our costumes as well. Because she's in St. George we don't even know what they look like til she gets here. Hope they turn out-but they always do. Rylz is being Jafar-he's going to be so perfect! I'm really looking forward to Friday night!

Also I'm so glad its fall break-man oh man I need a break. It finally hit the time when I don't want to go to class anymore-and lo and behold-it's fall break. Thursday is just gonna be great, I'm sleeping in, we're getting our new monitor, and then we're going shopping for my birthday! Then Friday is the party and next week is my actual birthday so we'll just have to celebrate again!

I just got back from one of my school groups first shoot. Spencer and Jake co-authored and directed their first skit, they asked me to be First Assistant Director-which I had no idea what that meant or what to do, but they just told me I mostly yell at people. Well I'm great at that! So we finished the shoot, and went for sushi to celebrate! I sure love sushi! Always go to Yamato for fresh, great (and cheap) sushi.

Back to Business

Man! The second I take time off everything falls behind. Ah well at least homework is getting done before the due date-even if it isn't when it normally gets done. The past weekend was so much fun!

We rolled into town in just enough time to get seated at the play before the overture. I've seen this show, Les Mis, who knows how many times so you'd think I'd be use to it. Nope! They even thru a curve at me in Thursday's performance. Javert was played by a black man. Oh! It was beautiful! The part was written for a black man and he did so amazingly well. The best Javert I have ever seen!

We had a chance to go boating on Friday-the weather was great and the lake was fine-until 'yellow boat' ruined it. It didn't matter too much because there was only 3 of us out there so we all got to do what we wanted for as long as we wanted and then we went home. It was so nice.

Then on Saturday we arose dark and early at the 4:30 am hour to drive up and help with the aide station my family's church is in charge of. Every October the St. George Marathon rolls around and every October my family's church volunteers to work the 2nd aid station, so since we were down we thought why not? Well not only was it dark but it started to rain as we got up the mountain. So there we were setting up tables and filling cups by flashlight in the rain. My husband, Tyler forgot tennis shoes and a coat so he was working in flip-flops and a sweatshirt. But it was so worth it! When I lived at home with my family I always aided the station and never really liked it-I mean it was service and I felt good but I never really enjoyed doing it. This time was different. It was one of those things where I was glad I did it and I'm glad I don't have to do it again.
